‘The NPP Is Worried About How John Mahama Reduced The Votes Of Nana Addo’

Ghanaian politician and legislator, Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has revealed that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is worried about how the votes of President Nana Addo were significantly reduced by his closest contender in the December 2020 elections, John Mahama.

Many people thought the 2020 presidential election was a done deal for Nana Addo, however, the 1 million margin the president gave to Mahama was significantly reduced.

This meant that the former president is still loved by quite a number of Ghanaians and, according to Mr. Agyapong, it has really become a headache for the NPP.

Speaking in a recent radio interview, he said;

“Don’t underestimate Mahama because he lost by over a million votes in 2016 but reduced the gap to about 500,000 in 2020. It tells you that he is a force to reckon with.”

The third term is not easy, nobody has been able to do that, so that should be a lesson to us, if indeed we want to get the third term, then we should do things right.”

Meanwhile, the leader of the majority group in the Ghanaian parliament, Osei Kyei-Mensah Bonsu has been asked to resign with immediate effect.

The renowned and refined politician is being asked to vacate his post by a group believed to be made up of staunch NPP supporters.

The politician in a recent submission indicated that the NPP should settle for a flagbearer who is not a member of the Akan tribe to lead them into the next election, thus 2024.
