Ghana climbed three places in the latest FIFA World ranking that was released this week.
Before this latest rankings, Ghana was in the 52nd position, however, as we speak, we have moved to the 49th position and this comes from the back drop of some impressive results in the recently played AFCON qualifiers.
The Black Star drew 1-1 with South Africa in Johannesburg before a 3-1 home win over Sao Tome and Principe.
When it comes to Africa, Ghana is now the seventh best team only Senegal, Tunisia, Nigeria, Algeria, Morocco, and Egypt.
In the global ranking, the top spot was maintained by the European giant, Belgium with 1783.38 points. Current holders of the World Cup, France ( 1757.3 points) are in the second position with world football powerhouse, Brazil (1742.65 points) in the third position.
The ‘originators’ of football, England are in fourth position with Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal in fifth place.
